Earthkeepers: Environmental Responsibility

All about Earthkeepers

A Passion for Nature

For an organisation represented by a tree in its logo, it may not be surprising that we spend much time in the outdoors. The length and depth of our commitment to the environment, however, extends further than what you would imagine. Out of the many ways we contribute to our planet, here are a select few.

Timberland: The Environmental Steward

Timberland loves nature. Our dedication to the environment is conscientiously exemplified by a comprehensive set of programmes and policies. Through which we aim to uphold our vision and responsibility of being an accountable, sustainable enterprise.

Remedies For Climate Impact

Through means big and small, Timberland is constantly channeling eco efforts to protect our planet. However, each time our computers are switched on, or a pair of boots produced, we contribute to the problems that cause climate change. The change that affects our natural resources. To counteract climate impact, we seek alternatives to protect the land we love.

The Materials We Use. And Reuse

From products, packaging, right down to every Timberland facility, you'll find our green values resonating wherever possible. Guided by the adage "reduce, reuse, recycle", we find every way to place nature as priority. Whether by maximising sustainability or minimising harmful effects on the environment.

What's So Special About Timberland's Footwear Packaging?

Timberland produces 3 million footwear boxes yearly. Therefore, from an eco-friendly and social contribution viewpoint, Timberland amended its footwear box design concept

Timberland changed its footwear packaging to footwear boxes that are made out of 100% post consumer recycled content cardboard and uses only soy-based inks. Although changing the footwear box won't change the world, Timberland will never retreat from the right path.

First Company In The Industry To List The Circumstances That The Footwear Was Produced In

Every Timberland footwear packaging comes with a Nutrition Label detailing in actual numbers the environmental impact your footwear has on the earth.

The Nutrition Label also details the product's eco-friendly components, for example, the percentage of renewable energy and PVC-free chemicals that were used, how much energy was used during production of the footwear and the time spent by Timberland employees on community engagement programs.

This is to help you understand the "footprint" your shoe will be leaving and Timberland's commitment to tackling environmental issues. Apart from this, the daily challenge of improving the scores on our labels encourages our team who constantly strives to be better.
